Kazakhstan increased imports of most types of dairy products in 2022, reports World of NAN, citing LS.
In January-February 2022, Kazakhstan imported almost 3.8 thousand tons of milk and cream, which is 1.5% more than in the same period of 2021. As well as 5.8 thousand tons of condensed or sweetened milk and cream with an increase of 43.2%. The main suppliers are Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Iran.
In addition, Kazakhstan purchased almost 1.5 thousand tons of butter and other dairy fats abroad for two months of 2022. This is 35.6% more than for the two months of 2021. The main seller was Kyrgyzstan.
As for cheese and cottage cheese, the volume increased by 7.4% and exceeded 4.5 thousand tons, half of which was supplied by Russia. Also, the northern neighbor is the leader in supplying fermented, churned and coagulated dairy products to Kazakhstan.
