Young people are fleeing with a diploma from the village

The interest of university graduates in the “With a Diploma to the Village” program is declining; young people are not even attracted by credit support for housing, World of NAN reports.

According to the Ministry of National Economy, over 14 years, more than 105 thousand university graduates took part in the “With a Diploma to the Village” program. Every second participant (48 thousand people) applied and received a budget loan for housing at a rate of 0.01%.

However, over the past few years, the program's attractiveness has begun to wane. Last year, 2023, compared to 2020, the number of participants in the state program decreased by 29.9%. Three years ago, about 5 thousand Kazakhstanis applied for a loan, in 2023 - only 3.5 thousand people.

The reluctance to move to the countryside with a diploma is quite natural. There is a much lower income level and uncomfortable living conditions in villages. The government promises year after year to improve living conditions in villages, but nothing goes beyond words.
