Meat processors have a catastrophic shortage of raw materials

Deputy Chairman of the National Chamber of Commerce Timur Nakipbekov said that the situation in the country for meat is not very bright, reports World of NAN, citing the NCE.

According to the expert, there is a strange situation in the country. On the one hand, meat processing plants do not have enough meat, and on the other hand, there is a decrease in livestock in the villages.

"From here you can see all the problems of the agrarian policy of meat. And when the Chinese market opens, the situation can worsen," Timur Nakipbekov added.

As an example the expert cited a modern meat processing plant "Beef export group" in Kostanay region. Capacity of the plant is 1.5 thousand cattle, but does not exceed 20-30%. The Torgai Et plant is experiencing similar problems.

"The problem may lie in the price given by the meat plants. Not all meat processing plants get cattle at market prices. Moreover, it is easier for farmers to take cattle to the market and such trade does not require any extra documents," Timur Nakypbekov added.
