The construction of a corn processing plant was launched in the south

The project on deep processing of 150 thousand tons of corn per year was initiated by the Akim of Turkestan region Darkhan Satybaldy. The plant intends to employ more than 500 people, reports World of NAN.

According to the Akim's press service, last December, during a working trip to Almaty, the head of the region proposed a number of new projects to entrepreneurs. One of them is a starch and straw factory to be built in the Shardara industrial zone.

In Shardara industrial zone, the head of the region met with entrepreneurs and discussed construction and production opportunities. Akimat of the region provides comprehensive support in solving the issue of infrastructure necessary for the construction of the plant. Now investors are establishing zones for corn sowing. In the southern territories of the region, corn will be cultivated in addition to cotton.

"We are always ready to support entrepreneurs. We create conditions for investors and provide free land plots with infrastructure. This is a great opportunity for citizens who want to start their own business. We plan to open several plants and factories in Turkestan region. The growth of enterprises will contribute both to the development of the district economy and employment of the population. There is no other way but to open new industries and create jobs. The region will not develop without increasing its own revenues. The factory in Shardara will increase the income of many families," said Darkhan Satybaldy.

At the plant, located on an area of 35 hectares, it is planned to produce starch molasses. This crop contains up to 75% of sugar. Therefore, the product can be used for industrial purposes, that is, as a natural sugar substitute. The enterprise will be able to provide large confectionery factories and beverage plants in the country with the necessary products. The plant will start producing more than 20 types of modified starch, maltose, glucose nectar, gluten, corn oil, germ, bran, grainy pellets, and molasses - a sweet product similar to a thick syrup that is obtained from starch. In addition, the plant will produce glucose sugar and food glucose. It is worth noting that the plant will not use genetically modified raw materials in the production of glucose nectar.

In addition, there will be a waste-free corn processing cycle. Crystalline glucose is a quickly assimilated high-quality food product. It is used to produce confectionery bakery products, canned fruit, condensed milk, ice cream and other culinary products. The volume of investment is 31.2 billion tenge. Project launch consists of two stages. The first stage will include completion of construction of a complex for storage and drying of grain crops this year. In the second stage, the plan is to complete the construction of the plant and launch it in 2024-2025. The investor intends to introduce the products to both domestic and foreign markets. The plant will export it to Asia and Europe. Farmers of Zhetysay, Maktaaral and Shardara districts will sow corn themselves and provide the plant with raw materials.
