Vegetables for kindergartens and social institutions were supplied at inflated prices, while parents paid for the expensive products, World of NAN reports with reference to AFM.
These facts were revealed in two regions of the country by the employees of the Financial Monitoring Agency. Thus, the KSU "Support Center for Children with Special Needs" in East Kazakhstan Region supplied carrots for 325 tenge and cabbage for 380 tenge per 1 kg.
After the intervention of the regional Department of AFM, an unproductive intermediary was excluded from the supply chain, and the price of vegetables was reduced by more than 2 times (carrots to 120 tenge, cabbage to 180 tenge).
In addition, in North Kazakhstan region, an individual entrepreneur organized a business selling vegetables to district kindergartens for more than 50 million tenge. Potatoes were supplied at 250 tenge per kg, while their selling price to retail outlets was 43% cheaper (141 tenge). The institutions revised the contracts for the coming year.
It should be noted that when supplying products from the social basket, the trade markup should not exceed 15% of the purchase price.
