Within the framework of the meeting the issues of transferring unused agricultural land to the existing farms and the mechanisms of transferring it to the state ownership were discussed. The Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeyev made a report on this topic.
To recap, on January 3 this year the Head of State signed a law, which reduced the term of compulsory withdrawal of unused agricultural land from two years to one year. New mechanisms of state control through space monitoring were introduced. Tax rates on unused agricultural land have been doubled.
According to the Minister, the problem of pastures in rural areas is extremely acute, and almost in all regions, however, as a result of the ongoing work in 2019-2021, 8.1 million hectares of unused or misused agricultural land were identified.
After the response measures were taken, 3.4 million hectares of this volume began to be developed by the former land owners. 2.1 million hectares were returned to state ownership. Today 2.6 million hectares are in the study of local executive bodies.
In addition, in 2021 the need for pastures for grazing of the rural population is reduced from 21 million hectares to 14 million hectares, including through the conclusion of memoranda with organized farms and expanding the boundaries of settlements.
"It is necessary to qualitatively and timely execute the instruction of the Head of State. I instruct the Ministry of Agriculture to intensify the work. Unused agricultural land must be transferred to those who really work on the land", - said Alikhan Smailov.
