Despite the rise in price, export of sunflower oil increased several times

According to the monitoring agency Energyprom.kz, Kazakh oil producers increased the share of exports by more than 70%. At the same time, the growth of sunflower oil value has not slowed down, reports World of NAN.

Thus, domestic enterprises in January-April 2022 supplied the demand for sunflower oil by 83.5%. The volume of production in this period was 149.1 thousand tons, which is 16.9% more than last year. Imports accounted for 29.4 thousand tons, plus 29.7% for the year. Thus 66,3 thousand sunflower oil were exported, that is 71,3% more as compared to the same period of 2021.

As a result, the domestic market was sold 112.2 thousand tons of sunflower oil, which is only 0.6% more as compared to January-April 2021. So far there is no frenzy for sunflower oil in the country, but the cost of the product continues to increase without a tendency to recede.

At the end of May, oil prices rose by 0.8% for the month and at once by 19.4% for the year. Moreover, the annual rise in price by the end of May 2021 was already 52.2%.

To stabilize prices the Ministry of Agriculture has imposed restrictions on the export of sunflower oil from the Republic of Kazakhstan until August 31, 2022. The size of the quota for the export of sunflower oil for June-August of this year is 68 thousand tons, and for the period of the quota is set a permissible monthly limit for one applicant, which in total is not more than 6 thousand tons.
