Scientists at the Institute of Genetics and Experimental Biology of Plants of the Republic of Uzbekistan have created a variety of soft wheat "Pahlavon", World of NAN reports with reference to the press service of the Academy of Sciences of the country.
The original seeds of the variety "Pahlavon" were propagated in 2021 in Bayavuta district of Syrdarya region, where an average yield of 55 centners/ha was obtained. 280 tons of super elite seeds have been prepared for sowing at a local farm for the 2022 crop.
According to the Academy of Sciences, the variety of soft wheat "Pahlavon" is resistant to irrigation water deficit and soil salinity, moderately resistant to rust diseases. The variety is adapted to local conditions, medium maturing, medium height (100-110 cm), medium lodging resistance, has a high baking quality. In addition, it has a high quality of straw, which makes it possible to use as fodder in animal husbandry.
