On the preparation of Akmola region for the spring agricultural campaign

The agrarians of Akmola region carried out 100% planting of seeds of crops for the harvest in 2022 in the amount of 529.8 thousand tons. For the timely implementation of the spring field works the work on forward purchase of grain has started. This year the region intends to increase the area under forage crops, World of NAN reports referring to Kazinform agency.

Acting Head of the Department of Agriculture and Land Relations of Akmola region Yerkesh Alenov spoke about the preparation for the spring field work in 2022 at the briefing.

"For today our main objective is the preparation for the organized implementation of the spring field works in 2022. The 3-fold processing of fallow lands on an area of 807 thousand hectares, plowing of grain was carried out on an area of more than 1 million hectares. The agrarians of the region carried out 100% planting of seeds of crops for the harvest of 2022 "- said Y. Alenov.

This year in the region according to the preliminary structure of sowing areas it is planned to carry out spring sowing in the area of 5,1 million ha, including cereals and leguminous crops in the area of 4,6 million ha, oilseeds - in the area of 277,6 thousand ha.

"For full satisfaction of needs of the animal breeding in forages, targeted work on the increase of sowing areas of forage crops is being carried out in the region. This year we are planning to increase the area of fodder crops, including corn, up to 195 thousand hectares - 19,7 thousand hectares more than in 2021. Potatoes and vegetables, taking into account the population will be placed on the area of 16.8 and 2.7 thousand hectares, respectively, "- said the speaker. 

Agricultural holdings can count on reimbursement of costs at a rate of 70% for actually purchased elite seeds and 50% - for the seeds of the first reproduction and hybrids of the 1st generation. The volume of subsidies for this year is 789 million tenge which will allow the increase of specific weight of seeds of high reproductions in total volume up to 85%.

"Department will also continue works on expansion of area of application of plant protection products against especially dangerous pests and diseases, on cheapening of expenses of agrarians for purchasing of pesticides up to 50% at the expense of allocated funds of more than 8 billion tenge this year. All ongoing activities in crop production industry are aimed at increasing crop yields and improving their quality, "- said Y. Alenov.

By results of 2021 agricultural producers of the region bought 2187 units of agricultural machinery for a total sum of 63 bln tenge, including 465 tractors, 345 combines and 101 seeding complex.

In sowing campaign this year, according to the speaker, 14,8 thousand tractors, 16,4 thousand seeders and 1,4 thousand high-performance sowing complexes will participate. The readiness of agricultural machinery for the sowing campaign is 90%.

According to the speaker, to ensure timely implementation of the spring field works the work on forward purchase of grain has started. This year, a quota of 413.6 thousand tons in the amount of 22.7 billion tenge was given to Akmola region. In general, the region carries out systematic work on the preparation and implementation of the sowing campaign.

To recall, Akmola region is one of the main agricultural regions, whose share in gross agricultural output of the Republic is 10%.
