Another official was imprisoned because of illegally granted land

The prosecutor's inspection in Irtysh district of Pavlodar region has established facts of illegal granting of two land plots of more than three thousand hectares to a large farm, World of NAN reports with reference to the prosecutor's office.

In order to obtain a favourable opinion, the Land Relations Department submitted distorted data for consideration of the land commission. In particular, the category of lands of settlements was replaced by reserve and agricultural lands.

As a result of such actions the state suffered damage in the form of underestimation of the amount of land lease by 80 million tenge, as well as violated the rights of rural residents, who were forced to reduce the number of personal livestock due to the created deficit of pastures.

According to the act of prosecutor's supervision, the lands were returned to the state and are now in common use of the local population. The court verdict found the head of the Land Relations Department guilty and sentenced him to three years' imprisonment.
