Almasbek Sadyrbayev, chairman of the Shopan Ata national agro-movement, spoke harshly about state aid to farmers, reports World of NAN.
According to him, the rural population has fallen again by several percent. And the ill-conceived system of support for domestic farmers is to blame.
"The Head of State is allocating large sums of money to the farming industry which was not allocated earlier. The money should not, as always, end up in the pockets of oligopoly groups. They should be spent for their intended purpose, and the agrarians should benefit from them. Farmers are not 40-50 oligarchs. There are 300 thousand farmers in our country. Of them, only 20 thousand benefit from the programs. The rest are taken away by oligarchs," Sadyrbayev said.
Farmers must unite in a common struggle, he said. That's the only way they will be able to restore order in the villages and stop resettlement in the cities.
