Kazakhstan is ready to supply the Pakistani market with up to 80 types of goods worth over $411 million, Minister of Trade and Integration Serik Zhumangarin told the World of NAN.
Due to the established friendly and economic ties today, Kazakhstan-Pakistan cooperation has a great potential for development. Kazakhstan sees Pakistan as an important and promising trading partner in South Asia.
"Our entrepreneurs are interested in exporting Kazakhstani products to the Pakistani market, in particular grain and legumes, vegetable oil, macaroni, flour and confectionery products. Kazakhstan, for its part - in the import of fruits and vegetables. In the future, our country is ready to supply the Pakistani market about 80 types of processed products of different sectors worth over $411 million," Serik Zhumangarin said.
Also, the Kazakh side met with Pakistan's logistics company NLC (National Logistic Cell), where they discussed road transit through Afghanistan. The company assured that it is ready to insure transportation and ensure the delivery of goods from Pakistan to Kazakhstan and back by the shortest route.
B2B meetings of Kazakhstani and Pakistani businesses were held in parallel with the meeting of the intergovernmental commission.
"We signed a memorandum of cooperation on the transit and transport of goods in our countries, now we are discussing with other potential partners the transportation from Kostanay to Hairaton of 2500 tons of flour, and potatoes from Pakistan about 50 thousand tons per year," - shared the commercial director of "Dala Trans" LLP Nursultan Nazhmetdinov
Aizhan Naimbekova, General Director of LLP Barys-2007, owner of trading network Gramad, producer of macaroni and confectionery products, received interesting offers on rice, confectionery products, as well as on container packaging during her business trip to Pakistan.
"I think it will be possible to sign contracts here. For this purpose, on our arrival to Kazakhstan we will calculate the cost of all proposals and choose the best offers. We can supply our own pasta to Pakistan. I think we will be able to reach mutually beneficial agreements," A. Naimbekova said.
The volume of bilateral trade between Kazakhstan and Pakistan in 2021 increased 2.1 times and amounted to $95.1 million (in 2020 - $45.6 million). The turnover decreased by 8.2% to $61.4 million (vs. $66.8 million for 10 months of 2021).
