The first organic farm will be opened in the Republic of Kazakhstan

Enbek LLP in Akmola region will build a farm for the production of organic milk. The first such enterprise will keep cows of a new breed for Kazakhstan - red Danish, reports World of NAN with reference to Agronews.

Organic dairy products will hit the shelves in 2024. The design capacity of the new farm will be 1,200 heads.

It is worth noting that the peculiarity of red Danish cows is that they have a strong immunity inherent in the genes. It is thanks to this quality that livestock is little susceptible to disease, and there is no need to use antibiotics for its treatment. In particular, this breed of animals gives milk of good quality with a high content of fat and protein, which makes it ideal for making cheeses and other dairy products.

Enbek LLP has been engaged in organic farming since 2013. There are 13 thousand hectares of arable land, of which just over 5 thousand hectares are certified for organic. The farm also has 16 thousand hectares of pastures. This creates conditions for the development of organic animal husbandry, as there is everything necessary for this: a forage base and an area for outdoor keeping.

Along with this, last year Enbek LLP installed equipment that allows the separation of the liquid manure fraction from the solid one, which is a unique technology for Kazakhstan. It is planned that by the end of the season, thanks to this innovation, the yield will increase by one and a half to two times.

To date, the enterprise already has one farm, it milks 600 cows, two breeds - Simmental and Black-and-White. Now Simmental milk yields are on average 8.5-9 tons per lactation, while Black-and-White milk yields 7.5-8 tons. The dairy farm delivers 8 tons of milk per day to a Kazakh company producing dairy products.
