Maktaaral agrarians get 25 centners of cotton from the first harvest

This year the local agrarians planted more than 35 thousand hectares of cotton. Yesterday the harvesting season began in the area. The first one to start harvesting campaign was peasant farm "Aybota" headed by Kanat Aibotaev in rural district Zhambyl, World of NAN reports with reference to the press service of the Akim of Turkestan region.

This season, the agricultural unit sowed the cotton variety "Maktaaral - 4011" on 5 hectares of land. According to K. Aibotayev, due to the full implementation of agro-technical measures, they get a yield of 25 centners from the first harvest. Local residents took part in the field cotton works and were paid 30 tenge per kilo of cotton. The head of the farm intends to transfer the harvested products to the Cotton-Khlopok LLP cotton processing plant.

"At the moment, our agrarians have completed agro-technical measures to harvest cotton and launched the cotton harvesting campaign. More than 3 thousand hectares of cotton have been defoliated in the district. Machinery, 8 cotton processing plants and 64 points are in full readiness. The successful implementation of the autumn harvesting campaign is our common goal," said Bayazit Alimkul, head of the district's agriculture department.

Today we have fully repaired harvesters in preparation for the cotton harvesting campaign. In general, the district is expected to participate 567 wheeled tractors, 850 units of trailers and 162 units of cotton pickers. The combine harvesters have been fully repaired.

According to the press service of the akim, thanks to good preparation of the agricultural fleet this year it is planned to increase the harvesting of cotton to 70%. The state is allocating fuel and lubricants for autumn field work at preferential rates.
