Former farmers received 6 years in prison each

In the North-Kazakhstan region, 22 pre-trial investigations into fraud and abuse of power by managers of agricultural enterprises were launched. Some of the defendants were even imprisoned, reports World of NAN referring to inbusiness.

According to the prosecutor's office, since 2020, 232 land plots with a total area of 124 thousand hectares were returned to the state ownership in the North Kazakhstan region. According to the prosecutor's office the rights of more than 11 thousand owners of conditional land shares, who were shareholders in 26 problematic enterprises, were also defended.

In the region there were registered the instances of falsification of minutes of general meetings with participation of shareholders, fraud of managers of agricultural enterprises.

Two cases related to one and the same farm attracted special attention of the Prosecutor's Office. The case concerns Zharkyn SK LLP, based in Ayrtau district of North Kazakhstan region. The first director, who headed the LLP until 2019, was accused of forging the minutes of the general meeting of shareholders. According to the verdict, he needed the signatures in order to take a loan from the Agrarian Credit Corporation against the property of the partnership. The sum of the credit amounted to 600 million tenge. The court ruled that the farmer committed fraud on a large scale and sentenced him to 6.8 years imprisonment.

The next director of the partnership was also in the bench of the defendants. The businessman was found guilty of non-compliance with court acts, violation of labor legislation and fraud. In this case, the sentence was 6 years in prison.

Besides, as it is noted in Prosecutor's Office of the North Kazakhstan region, there is an ongoing pre-trial investigation initiated on the basis of collective applications of shareholders of Alibi Holding on the illegal credit loan of 4.7 billion tenge  received by the holding management against the applicants' plots of land. An audit is being conducted to establish the amount of damage and the ultimate beneficiary of the funds.
