Preparation for the sowing season was discussed in the Ministry of Agriculture

Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeyev held a meeting on the preparation and organization of the spring field work via videoconference. In the new season the total area will be 22 million 991 thousand hectares, reports World of NAN, referring to the Ministry of Agriculture.

As First Vice-Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov noted, the Ministry of Agriculture is working with each region on the readiness of equipment, availability of seeds, fertilizers, spare parts, and everything else necessary for the successful implementation of the spring field work.

Together with the akimats, a forecast structure of sowing areas in 2022 has been formed. The total area will amount to 22 million 991 thousand hectares, which is 13.5 thousand hectares more than the 2021 indicator.

In accordance with new approaches in state support of agroindustrial complex there will be strict approach to crop rotation, including the use of digital technologies.

There are 141,700 tractors, 4300 units of highly productive seeding complexes, 73,200 seeders, 221,200 tillage tools in agricultural organizations for the sowing campaign.

By results of 11 months of this year agrarians bought 6,766 units of equipment to the amount of 131.2 billion tenge which is more than purchase volumes for the same period of 2020 by 30% (5,190 units to the amount of 92.4 billion tenge). Together with the Ministry of Energy there are plans to allocate about 390 thousand tons of diesel fuel for the period of February-June (in 2021 there were 380 thousand tons).

Weather conditions of the current year have also affected the quantity and quality of seeds, according to reports, seed planting was implemented at 99.4% of the plan. There were 1.3 million tons of spring crop seeds for examination, of which 1.1 million tons or 88% were inspected. Of the tested volume of seeds, 99% were deemed to be in good condition, 91% correspond to the 1st and 2nd class of the sowing standard. According to the preliminary data, for the harvest of 2022, 135 thousand tons of elite seeds (5,5%) were sown, 93% of the seeds are not lower than the third reproduction.

There are 316 seed production entities in the Republic, including 40 producers of original seeds, 106 elite seed production entities and 170 seed production farms.

It should be noted, that in last five years there was growth of percentage of provision of seed producing farms with sowing machinery from 70% up to 89,4%, with harvesting machinery from 80% up to 92%, with seed refining machinery from 63% up to 81,4%.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to mineral fertilizers and pesticides. According to the plans of regions in 2022, an increase in fertilizer application is projected by 30 thousand tons and will amount to 654 thousand tons. The pesticide subsidy program for 2022 provided 37 billion tenge, which will allow the processing of about 16.6 million hectares of land.

In addition, according to the Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC "NC" Prodkorporatsiya" Kanat Karaulov, in 2021, 235 agricultural producers with 769.3 thousand tons of products worth 40 billion tenge were contracted in forward purchase of agricultural products. In 2022 the corporation plans to increase the amount to 60-80 billion tenge or 50-100%. In addition, there are plans to increase the number of advanced crops from 9 to 10, with corn to be added in 2022.

Summing up the meeting, Yerbol Karashukeyev pointed out the importance of food security, given the current epidemiological situation.

"It is clear that we must, first and foremost to provide itself with production, but we can not forget about our export position. The correct structure of cultivated areas allows us to sell products at export prices, not to the detriment of the domestic market. Then no restrictions and bans will be imposed. At the same time, we must remember and execute the plans for import substitution. It's not only sugar and apples, but also the fodder base for livestock," - said the head of the department.
