Polish investor is ready to build a fodder plant in Kazakhstan

The economic forum Kazakhstan-Poland has passed in Warsaw, devoted to development of the trade-investment relations between two countries. On the sidelines of the forum the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between NC Kazakh invest JSC and the Polish company SENEKA, reports World of NAN.

According to the press-service of the national company, the parties discussed and agreed to start the construction of a plant for the production of fodder for farmed fish in Kazakhstan. The sum of the investor's project will amount to $100 mln.

It is worth noting that Poland is one of the leading foreign economic partners of Kazakhstan in Central and Eastern Europe. The Kazakh-Polish trade turnover is more than 80% of the total Polish trade with Central Asian countries and in 2022 exceeded $ 1.3 billion (export - 770.7 million and import - $ 587.4 million) which is 78% higher than in 2021 ($ 757.8 million).

According to the forum participants Kazakhstan and Poland have a great potential for strengthening trade and investment relations. In addition to traditional commodity sectors, of particular interest to Polish investors cause the agro-industrial sector, which has become a priority for the development of the Polish economy.

In turn, the Head of the Department of Investment and Real Estate at Nicolaus Copernicus University, PhD Małgorzata Jaworek said that, given the results of surveys of Polish companies operating in Kazakhstan, the absolute confidence of investors in the country can be seen. She stressed that Polish companies, based on their experience and success, see Kazakhstan as a promising and attractive market for investment.

The session was moderated by the Project Manager of KAZAKH INVEST in Europe Altynay Mukanova. In her speech she presented the activities of the national investment company and invited Polish investors to joint participation in the implementation of projects in Kazakhstan.

"Today Kazakhstan is an attractive economy for foreign investments. According to the results of 2022, the gross inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Kazakhstan amounted to $28 billion, which is 17.7% more than in 2021 ($23.8 billion). This indicator is a record over the past 10 years (in 2012 - $28.9 billion)," - said A. Mukanova.
