Sowing cabbage started in Turkestan region

Agrarians of the Saryagash district of Turkestan region began planting cabbage seedlings, World of NAN reports referring to the press service of the region's Akimat.

Cabbage crops are being sown in the farm "Almas" in Yntymak village of Zharty Tobe rural district. Farmers effectively use every day of the month, despite the difficult weather conditions. The crop ripens within two months. Because of the high demand for early-ripening type of products, farmers have special hopes for the crop.

In 2021 in 69,700 hectares of arable land in the Saryagash district was developed. Of them 30 091 hectares of wheat, 7 600 hectares of barley, 5 000 hectares of corn, 500 hectares of legumes, 1 809 hectares of oilseeds, 1200 hectares of melons, 4000 hectares of potatoes, 10 500 hectares of vegetables and 9 000 hectares of fodder crops.

From the sown areas 46,826 tons of grain crops, 850 tons of grain legumes, 2,020 tons of oilseeds, 26,675 tons of melons, 92,000 tons of potatoes and 310,151 tons of vegetables were harvested.
