Sowing ended in the Karaganda region

On the results of the sowing campaign reported at the staff meeting the head of the Department of Agriculture Askar Sanaubarov.

"This year the area of spring sowing made up 1 million 105,5 thousand hectares, with an increase by 43,7 thousand hectares compared to last year. Growth was provided by increasing the area in Abay, Bukhar-Zhyrau, Nurin and Osakar districts", - informed the head of the agency.

Cereals were planted on 957.2 hectares, potatoes on 12,033 hectares, vegetables on 274 hectares. It is also more than last year. Forage crops planted increased by 16.3 thousand hectares and amounted to 76 thousand hectares.

Timely processing of fields to protect crops from pests and start preparation of grain and vegetable storage facilities was ordered by regional Akim Yermaganbet Bulekpayev.

"Funds from the budget are allocated, processing of fields is planned for June. It is necessary to control the quality of work, - said the head of the region. - It is also necessary to begin preparations of machinery for harvesting and to prepare storages for receiving. There will be preparation of fodder for livestock".
