Government approves construction of logistics complex on border with Kyrgyzstan

The authorities have approved a draft agreement with the neighboring state on the construction of an industrial trade and logistics complex on the border of the two countries, World of NAN reports.

"To approve the attached draft agreement between the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic on the regulation of the industrial trade and logistics complex in the area of road checkpoints "Karasu" and "Ak-Tilek," - said in a government decree.

Construction of the Industrial and Logistics Complex will allow to expand cooperation in the sphere of support and development of production and entrepreneurship, and will also contribute to attraction of investments. Including through the conclusion of contracts for investment activities with investors in accordance with the legislation of the states of the parties.

"For this purpose, the Kazakh side will provide attraction of investments into construction of ILC infrastructure. The parties undertake to involve those investors who have experience in the successful implementation of projects in a similar area of activity," says the draft agreement.

ILC is a complex (center) of trade, economic and investment cooperation, consisting of the Kazakh and Kyrgyz parts, located in the border areas of the parties.

"The main objectives of ILC establishment and functioning are to ensure production cooperation in the sphere of warehousing, storage, consolidation, processing, production of new goods and their further implementation with effective integration into international commodity distribution systems, as well as provision of short-term storage, logistics, lease of trading places, pre-sale preparation (calibration, sorting, packing and packaging, product certification), consolidation and redistribution of goods by wholesale lots, loading and unloading, clearance. ILC is a platform for the development of interrelated and complementary industries, related activities, aimed at achieving common goals and results," the document specifies.
