The Prime Minister explained why the state of emergency has not been declared in the regions

The head of the Cabinet of Ministers explained why the regions of Akmola, North-Kazakhstan, Pavlodar and Kostanai did not declare a state of emergency, World of NAN reports with reference to informburo.kz.

According to the norms of the current legislation, the occurrence of natural precipitation in excess of the norm in a certain area is not grounds for declaring an emergency.

"At the same time, it should be noted that commodity producers have the opportunity to carry out voluntary insurance against adverse weather conditions, where the Ministry of Agriculture subsidizes 80% of insurance premiums, for which this year 2.5 billion tenge was allocated," - added Alikhan Smailov.

According to the given data, 235 thousand hectares of grain and oilseed crops for 1.5 billion tenge were insured this year in the area of insurance of soil moisture deficit index, 6.6 thousand hectares for 34.7 billion tenge in the area of insurance of soil moisture excess index.
