EAEU Prime Ministers Approved Eurasian AgroExpress Project

Eurasian Intergovernmental Council adopted an order to support the implementation of a joint project of the Eurasian Economic Union for the implementation of accelerated railway and multimodal transport "Eurasian Agroexpress", reports World of NAN, referring to the press service of the EEC.  

The project is aimed at increasing the volume of mutual supplies and exports of agricultural products and food, as well as its diversification.

"At the first stage, regular shipments outside the EAEU will be organized in two directions - to China and Uzbekistan, as well as back. In the future, the implementation routes can be expanded to other countries of the Asian and European regions. Regularity of transportation will make it possible to set competitive rates for sea freight and reduce the delivery time (up to 10-14 days to China and 4-7 days to Uzbekistan). In addition, the creation of all necessary infrastructure - well-functioning logistics supply chain is planned, "- said the Minister of Commerce of the Eurasian Economic Commission Andrey Slepnev.

He explained that it is a supply of fat and oil, dairy, meat, fruits and vegetables and ready-made food products, as well as other foods with an emphasis on marginal products.

The joint project provides for the possibility of launching two full container trains per week along the route Republic of Belarus - Russian Federation - Kyrgyz Republic - Republic of Kazakhstan - People's Republic of China, including trains with refrigerated containers for frozen products. Thus, the monthly volume of transportations in the direction of China can be about 10 thousand tons.

Bremino Group LLC (Republic of Belarus), KTZ Express JSC (Republic of Kazakhstan), NC KTZ (Kyrgyz Republic), RZD Logistics JSC (Russian Federation) and Slavtrans-Service JSC (Russian Federation) confirmed their participation in the joint project. ANO "Eurasian Agrologistics" was established to act as a coordinator.
