Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov drew attention to the acute problem of wear and tear of agricultural machinery and gave an instruction to this effect, World of NAN reports.
"It is necessary to facilitate farmers' access to new equipment and reduce corruption risks. In particular, to address the issue, instead of a 15% down payment from the farmer himself, an investment subsidy should be deposited directly with the leasing company. This will allow the farmer not to pull significant finances out of his working capital," Filat said.
He also instructed the Ministries of National Economy, Finance and "Baiterek" holding to allocate funds to finance preferential leasing of agricultural machinery at a rate for the final borrower not exceeding 5% by May 1.
