President received well-known agribusinessmen of the country

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with representatives of agribusinesses in Akorda. The participants of the event discussed problematic issues and prospects of development of agriculture, World of NAN reports with reference to the press service of the President.

The head of the state noted that last year the agricultural sector grew by 9.1%. According to him, there was a good harvest, domestic farmers harvested about 23 million tons of grain. We are systematically working to diversify cultivated areas and move to a highly profitable crop. The area of oilseed crops has increased almost fourfold and reached 3.5 million hectares.

"As the head of the state said, positive changes are first of all the merit of agricultural workers who make a great contribution to the food security of our country by their daily and persistent work. At the same time there are a number of problematic issues in the sphere of agriculture that the President suggested discussing at an open discussion," the press service noted.

The Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeyev, Director of multiproduct enterprise "Rodina" Ivan Sauer, General Director of LLP " Olzha Agro" Aidarbek Hojanazarov, director of the peasant partnership "Zenchenko and Co" Gennady Zenchenko, director of LLP "Experimental farm of oilseeds" Farid Abitayev spoke during the meeting.

According to press-service information, participants of the event raised problems of diversification of production, deep processing of raw materials and production of new agricultural products, development of sugar industry, seed production, cattle breeding and veterinary, as well as supply of domestic market and increase of export capacity. Heads of agrarian enterprises paid much attention to the efficiency of allocation and use of funds for development of agroindustrial complex, equitable distribution of land and water resources.

Representatives of agrarian business noted the necessity to improve the quality of life in the countryside, the state of road and social infrastructure, including schools and kindergartens, as well as personnel training.

The President listened to the speeches and ordered the Government to take into account all the proposals and conduct a thorough analysis of the situation in agriculture, taking into account the opinion of farmers. According to the Head of State, such meetings with representatives of the agro-industrial complex should be held regularly, because not only the quality of life of citizens, but also the state of food security of the country depends on solving the problems of the industry.
