Agricultural production in the EAEU reaches $ 119.5 billion

In 2020, the volume of agricultural production in farms of all categories of the Eurasian Economic Union increased by 2.1% compared to 2019 and amounted to USD 119.5 billion, World of NAN reports with reference to the EEC.

In 2020, the total sown area of ​​agricultural crops in farms of all categories of the EAEU amounted to 109.9 million hectares (100.5% to the level of 2019), an increase in the total sown area was noted in all EAEU states, except Armenia. The largest share in the total sown area of ​​the EAEU is occupied by crops of grain and leguminous crops - 61%.

In 2020, the gross grain harvest in the EAEU amounted to 164.6 million tons, which is 11.1% more than in the previous year. The growth was due to an increase in the area of ​​grain and leguminous crops in the EAEU against the background of higher yields compared to 2019 in all EAEU states.

At the beginning of 2021, the number of cattle in farms of all categories of the EAEU was 32.5 million heads (1.2% more than at the beginning of the previous year), of which 14.5 million cows (1.4% more) , the number of pigs - 29.8 million (2.2% more), sheep and goats - 48.9 million (at the level of the previous year), horses - 5 million (6.2% more), poultry - 620.9 million (5% less).

In 2020, the production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in carcass weight in the EAEU amounted to 14 million tons, which is 3.3% more than in the previous year. Growth was observed in all EAEU states. Milk production also increased (by 3.1%) and amounted to 48.4 million tons, an increase was noted in all EAEU states, except Armenia. Egg production in the EAEU in 2020 slightly decreased (by 0.7%).

Belarus has the highest rates of livestock production per capita: production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in slaughter weight is 137 kg, milk - 828 kg, eggs - 373 pcs.
