Sichuan Province will buy Kazakh agricultural products worth tens of millions of dollars

A trade and economic mission with the participation of more than 40 Kazakh producers of goods is taking place in the Chinese city of Chengdu from March 18 to 21, the World of NAN reports with reference to the Ministry of Trade.

"The Chinese market for us is a reliable consumer of Kazakh products. Domestic enterprises are ready to offer Chinese buyers a wide range of industrial and agricultural goods in 135 additional commodity items worth over $1 billion," Trade Minister Arman Shakkaliyev emphasized.

This list includes high-quality chilled meat, fish products, poultry meat and by-products, other types of high-margin goods. It should be noted that China is the main buyer of Kazakhstan rapeseed oil, its share is from 74% to 98% in different years.

Domestic plants are able to increase supplies of oil and fat products to the neighboring market, the potential of which is estimated at more than 250 thousand tons.

Chinese province Sichuan annually imports goods worth about $41 billion, mainly rapeseed, sunflower and safflower oil, oilcakes, water, dairy products, as well as meat products. Great opportunities are opening up for Kazakh commodity producers in supplying these goods to Sichuan buyers.

As a result of meetings and negotiations in Chengdu, Kazakhstan business signed export contracts for the supply of sunflower, soybean, safflower oil, confectionery, feed flour and other agricultural products worth $75.2 million.
