Poultry farmers were accused of price fixing

Since the beginning of December the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition has issued 14 notices to egg producers on the grounds of anti-competitive concerted actions, the World of NAN reports referring to the press service of the Government.

Thus, in the past week, based on the analysis of electronic invoices, the Committee of Trade has revealed facts of sale of eggs through intermediaries with a mark-up exceeding the one established by law. In particular, in Karaganda region Kurma Agrofirm LLP sold eggs of the first category to enterprises in Karaganda and Zhambyl regions and Ulytau, which resold products with a trade markup of 21 to 45%. Among the buyers of eggs with a trade markup of 45% was the Karaganda bakery. All materials have been submitted to the akimats of the regions for appropriate action.

To date, poultry farms in Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan regions, Astana served 7 notices by reducing prices by 7-10%.

On the grounds of establishing monopoly high prices and price collusion 7 cases were filed against poultry farms in Kostanay region, Almaty region, Zhambyl region, Turkestan region, and Shymkent.
