Poultry farmers break production records 

Poultry meat production in Kazakhstan is breaking records. In April 12,986 tons were produced, which is 30.5% more than in April 2022, World of NAN reports with reference to the First Credit Bureau.

Since the beginning of the year the production amounted to 45.9 thousand tons, which is 27.3% more than in January-April 2022. Also, in 3 months Kazakhstan exported 6,600 tons of poultry meat worth $9.9 million - a high figure, considering that last year's sales amounted to 14,700 tons for $25.9 million.

However, domestic poultry farmers are not yet able to supply the citizens of the country. 45.9 thousand tons is a little more than half a kilo per each inhabitant of the country per month, and calculate the export volume and the figures will come out absolutely negligible.

At the same time, poultry farmers have previously asked to limit exports from Russia and Belarus, because they dump prices. But still the people of Kazakhstan are dependent on imports. For the first quarter, 23.8 thousand tons of poultry meat for $31.3 million were imported from abroad.
