Russian President Vladimir Putin at an inter-regional cooperation forum has described how Russia is helping Kazakhstan, World of NAN reports.
"Russia is the key supplier to Kazakhstan of such commodity groups as wheat - it is 98 percent of imports, barley - the same amount, poultry meat - 80-90 percent, sugar - up to 70 percent, sour-milk products - 60-70 percent," the head of the Russian Federation emphasized.
He also mentioned that Russia helps Kazakh farmers in supplying basic fertilizers. Zhambyl region has one of the largest phosphorus fertilizer production facilities in the CIS and even Europe as a whole, built with the help of Russia. Another similar chemical complex with a production capacity of up to one million tons of products is under construction.
"The contribution of Russian regions to the training of specialized personnel for Kazakhstan's agro-industry is very significant. I mean both the admission of students from Kazakhstan to our agricultural universities, and the ongoing work on the creation of specialized sectoral educational centers in Kazakhstan's regions," Putin noted.
In addition, Russian and Kazakh regions are implementing large joint projects in the production and supply of high-quality agricultural machinery. The Russian President added that other Russian machine-building enterprises not only export their products, but also localize their assembly in Kazakhstan.
Russia is the undisputed leader in the number of enterprises with foreign capital in Kazakhstan. More than 20 thousand Russian companies are registered in Kazakhstan. Direct investments from the Russian Federation exceeded 20 billion dollars.
