KTZh strengthens logistics with Azerbaijan

Chairman of the Board of JSC "NC "KTZh" Nurlan Sauranbayev met with the head of CJSC "Azerbaijan Railways" Javid Gurbanov, World of NAN reports with reference to the press service of the railway operator. 

During the talks, the sides discussed issues of further development of multimodal transport along Transcapian International Transport Route (TITR). The parties noted the necessity of activation of work on increasing the throughput capacity and reduction of transit time on the route.

As a result of the meeting the heads of the railway administrations signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of logistics and implementation of joint projects.

The volume of traffic on the TITR route in 2021 was 586.2 thousand tons and transportation of containers was 25,270 TEU. In January-March 2022, 266.3 thousand tons were transported along the route, an increase of 123% over the same period in 2021. Container shipments amounted to 5,847 TEU. This is 19% more than in January-March last year.
