Kyrgyzstan will provide Kazakhstan's people with $1 million worth of early vegetables

Bakhyt Sultanov, Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, paid a working visit to the Kyrgyz Republic. He met and discussed plans for cooperation with the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov and with heads of ministries, World of NAN reports referring to the Ministry of Trade and Commerce.

According to the press service, at the meeting with the Chairman of the Cabinet of the Minister - Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic discussed the progress of measures to create a cross-border industrial trade and logistics complex (ITLC) at the checkpoint "Karasu". It was noted that on the basis of ITLC joint ventures of light industry (including textiles), woodworking, construction materials, etc. will be created. The parties also discussed the process of formation of the internal commodity distribution network and the project for establishment of the WDC in Kyrgyzstan and their further integration into the Eurasian commodity distribution system (a joint action plan for establishment and functioning of the WDC in the Kyrgyz Republic had been signed earlier).

"The creation of the storage and logistics system, according to our estimates, will increase exports of fruit and vegetable products from Kyrgyzstan by 2 times from $ 90 million to $ 175 million. In addition, it will reduce losses of fruit and vegetable products from 40 to 10%", - said Bakhyt Sultanov.

A number of documents were signed as a result of the conference. For example, an export contract was signed for the supply of food products (instant noodles) to Kyrgyzstan. In addition, companies of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan agreed on the supply of early vegetables (carrots, cabbage) from the Kyrgyz Republic to the market of Kazakhstan for $ 1 million.

The license agreement was also signed for the adoption, application, translation and dissemination of national standards between the RSE "KazStandard" MTI RK and the Center for Standardization and Metrology of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic.

It should be noted that trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in January-October 2021 amounted to $ 795.1 million, which is 13% higher than in the same period of the previous year ($ 703.7 million).
