State of Emergency is ready to be declared in the regions

At an extended meeting of the Committee on Agrarian Issues in the parliamentary Majilis, the Ministry of Emergency Situations expressed readiness to declare a state of emergency in some regions, World of NAN reports with reference to BaigeNews.kz.

"The drought refers to emergencies of natural character. In Pavlodar region during the vegetation season of 2023, there was a deficit of precipitation, which led to soil drought. The Ministry of Emergency Situations is ready to consider the issue of declaring an emergency of regional scale when appropriate documents are submitted by Akimats and the Ministry of Ecology," said Vice Minister for Emergency Situations Yerlan Nurpeisov.

According to Kazhydromet, from September 1 to September 18, the amount of rainfall in Akmola region was 16-79 mm, in Kostanai region - 13-67 mm, in North Kazakhstan region - 20-70 mm.

"According to the rules of implementation of the state emergency situation, meteorological phenomena, including heavy rain (downpour), as well as disease and death of plants refers to the emergency situation of natural character. Here we are also ready to assist in declaring an emergency of regional scale, if the appropriate package of documents is submitted," concluded the Vice-Minister.
