Russia has increased flour exports by a third

Russian flour export shipments in January-October increased by more than a third compared to the same period last year, up to 990 thousand tons, the World of NAN reports.

Among importers, Iraq took the first place (at the end of last year it was in the second place): more than 150 thousand tons of flour were shipped there from Russia in January-October, 17% more than in the first 10 months of 2022. The second place in 2023 was taken by Georgia: shipments to this country for 10 months amounted to 126 thousand tons.

China is also in the top 3 buyers: in January-October Russian flour exports to this country increased 3.7 times in annual terms and has already exceeded 100 thousand tons. In 2022, flour supplies to China amounted to 37 thousand tons, in 2021 - less than 13 thousand tons.

At the same time, Russia resumed shipments of wheat flour to Hong Kong: for 10 months of this year, 49 thousand tons of flour were shipped to the special administrative region of the PRC. In addition, positive dynamics is also observed in flour shipments to neighboring countries.

Priority markets for increasing supplies of Russian flour are Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Many of these countries are the largest importers of flour.

Agroexport estimates that the potential of Russian flour supplies to foreign markets may additionally amount to more than 500 thousand tons per year.
