Aidarbek Saparov reminded that Russia is the largest trade partner of Kazakhstan and accounts for more than 30% of the country's total trade turnover.

"Our country has a great potential to increase the volume of supplies of vegetables, fruits, rice, meat, cotton and others to Russia. In parallel, it is necessary to continue work on the removal of trade restrictions, including veterinary and phytosanitary barriers.

In this case, it is very important for both the economy of Kazakhstan and Russia to identify and combat the so-called "gray" imports," the minister said.

In 2023, a similar situation occurred with wheat. Therefore, the republic extended the ban on imports of wheat by road, as well as introduced restrictions on imports by rail. Thanks to this Kazakhstan will know the specific recipients represented by licensed elevators, processing and poultry enterprises.
