Farmers are no longer engaged in cattle breeding

According to the Bureau of National Statistics, in the second quarter of the current year, households produced 6.9 thousand tons of beef, which is 20% less than the same period last year, World of NAN reports.

At the same time, a 20% drop in mutton production was recorded at 10.3 thousand tons, of which 7.7 thousand tons were consumed by villagers themselves, while just over 676 tons were sold.

There was also a decline in the production of horse meat - by 9.1% (1.6 thousand tons), pork - by 16.8% (3.4 thousand tons), poultry - by 33.6% (597.8 tons), other types of meat and by-products - by 13.3% (2.5 thousand tons).

Decrease also affected milk, in three months its volume fell by 9.2% compared to the indicators of 2022. And the production of eggs in households fell by 20.2% to 115.8 million pcs.

The reason for this decline may be the annual drought and lack of pastures. Farmers simply have nowhere to graze their livestock, and the drought makes the cost of fodder too high.
