It's hard to call Kazakhstani women the weaker sex these days. They are capable of doing major tasks, which sometimes even men do not undertake. A woman from the village of Makhambet, Atyrau region, has decided to process wool, whereas many farmers simply burn it, reports World of NAN, citing Kazinform.
In 2020 Amangul Zhumagulova from Makhambet village received grant funds in the amount of two million tenge within the program of support and development of business "Road Map of Business-2025". With this money she opened a processing shop.
Today the shop "Daulet" offers blankets and pillows of pure natural wool to villagers. An educator by profession, mother of three children, Amangul says she learned the technique of processing wool from her mother.
"My mother processed wool, knitted, sewed syrmak and blankets, felting. After becoming a teacher and working in my profession, I started sewing quilts. I started with mini-blankets, now I sew dowry for brides. Now sewing products is my main source of income. And when I saw how the wool of animals is thrown away in peasant households for lack of use, I got the idea to open my own workshop for wool processing", - says the rural businesswoman.
Amangul's idea was initially supported and helped by her husband and children, and later she got two workers involved. In addition, in her spare time the woman teaches wool processing and blanket sewing, pattern making. In the future, the entrepreneur plans to expand her shop and increase the number of workers.
"We will start producing wool yarn and felting products. My goal is to provide the population with domestic products," says Amangul Zhumagulova.
According to the local akimat, in 2021 Amangul was awarded the title of "Best Entrepreneur" of the district.
