Kazakhstan and the Netherlands have signed a memorandum of understanding and the establishment of a joint agricultural committee, World of NAN reports with reference to the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.
Representatives of Kazakhstan and the Netherlands will meet annually, as well as invite business representatives and specialists to the meetings to further realize joint projects in the field of agribusiness.
"Cooperation with the Kingdom of the Netherlands in agriculture is one of the priority directions for us - this sphere has a huge potential", - emphasized Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture Azat Sultanov.
Within the framework of the memorandum, cooperation in the science and education sectors will be intensified. The exchange of students, as well as grants for Kazakhstani students and specialists to study at agrarian universities in the Netherlands are proposed.
In addition, the countries will intensify work on the exchange of experience in the veterinary medicine sector.
" The Dutch veterinary company Royal GD proposed to implement a project on the prevention and treatment of animal disease. It provides for the study of Kazakhstan's experience and development of recommendations for its improvement", - explained the Vice-Minister.
The third proposal is the development of seed production in Kazakhstan. Given the rich experience of the Netherlands, the agricultural industry of Kazakhstan will benefit from the study of large-scale production of agricultural seeds.
