Senator: the funds allocated for the development of agro-industrial complex are insufficient

Senator Saken Arubayev said the funds planned for the development of the agro-industrial complex are insufficient, World of NAN reports.

The deputy decided to raise a sore subject for all farmers of the country by the example of Zhambyl region. Within the framework of the national project on the development of agro-industrial complex for 2021-2025, the region was allocated 30.6 billion tenge for 11 thousand farmers.

"This year, the funds for the development of the agricultural industry is not planned enough. For example, 8.6 billion tenge was required for sugar beet production, but only 2 billion tenge was allocated," Arubayev emphasized.

The situation is the same in the region's livestock sector. Despite the allocated 5.3 billion tenge for the development of the industry, the amount of the loan from reserve applications remaining from the previous year amounted to 2.6 billion tenge, which threatens the further development of livestock farming.

"In this regard, the government needs to find the planned funds for the repayment of debts 2023, and for the planned activities 2024 of the agro-industrial complex of the Zhambyl region, as well as to conduct appropriate research work and take specific measures in all areas. I bring to your attention that this situation is a pressing problem for all regions of the Republic", - concluded the deputy.
