The criminal case of a deputy of the district maslikhat was considered in Aktobe region. He pulled off a simple and effective scheme to steal hundreds of millions of tenge, World of NAN reports with reference to Aktobe Court No. 2.
In 2020, the defendant, being the head of a peasant farm, in order to open a credit line in the amount of 780 million tenge, submitted a contract to the Agrarian Credit Corporation for the purchase of 1,200 cattle, without having any real possibility or intention to do so. As a pledge property, he indicated cattle that did not exist in the peasant farm. Having received 390 million tenge, the defendant transferred it to the account of his relative. He then transferred 290 million to his current account and the balance to the current account of his farm. After that he used the money at his own discretion.
Between 2021 and 2022, without any cattle assets, the defendant misled Agriculture Department employees by submitting fictitious applications for subsidies. He cashed and stole the 67 million tenge received and spent it on his own needs, thereby causing material damage to the department.
The guilt of the defendant was proved. The court sentenced the deputy to 6 years' imprisonment. As mitigating circumstances mitigating criminal liability and punishment, the court recognised the presence of 4 young children of the defendant. Aggravating circumstances were not established in the case.
