In our "great" grain-growing country since the beginning of the year, the production of bread fell by 0.7%, and the cost of the product rose by 9%, reports World of NAN with reference to data from Energyprom.kz.
Between January and July of this year in Kazakhstan 296.4 thousand tons of bread were produced - 0.7% less than a year earlier. The largest volume of production fell on Turkestan region - 71.1 thousand tons, which is 24% of the total output in the country.
As for consumption in the sector, in the first quarter of this year, according to the research, 876 g of rye and rye-wheat bread were consumed per person - by 13.3% more than a year earlier. The consumption of wheat bread from first grade flour amounted to 7.1 kg per capita per quarter, minus 7.8% over the year.
At the end of July this year, the price of bread rose by 8.6% over a year. Including rye-wheat bread increased in price by 12.7%, wheat bread from top grade flour - by 12.4%, wheat bread from first grade flour - by 5.8% over the year.
