Next year will be dedicated to improving the well-being of rural residents

The next year will pass under the aegis of increasing the welfare and quality of life of the villagers. In the development of the Concept of rural development it is necessary to involve experts, farmers and community leaders in the field as much as possible. This was stated by the President at an extended meeting of the Government of Kazakhstan, reports World of NAN.

According to the Head of State, we need a completely new approach to the revival of the village. Land is the main source of income for the villagers. At the same time, there is still a deficit of pastures around rural settlements. It is about 8.8 million hectares.

"On my instruction, about 5.2 million hectares of agricultural land, mainly pastures, were returned to State ownership. Now the government together with the akimats of the regions should create a monitoring map of land distribution to meet the needs of villagers in pastures," said the President.

He added that plans under the National Project for the Development of Agribusiness are not being fulfilled. For example, the plan was to introduce 65 agro-processing projects, but only 31 projects have actually been introduced. Of the seven planned poultry farms, only three have been commissioned. As for fish production, instead of 11 projects, only 7 have been put into operation.

"Next year we are launching a nationwide project to develop agricultural cooperation with an allocation of 1 trillion tenge. It will cover more than 1 million villagers," said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Changes are also expected in the social sphere in the countryside. A new project is being launched to modernize rural healthcare. About 700 new medical facilities will be built and 32 multi-purpose district hospitals will be modernized. We are allocating more than 200 billion tenge for this.
