Students of agrarian university will have free internship at FAO

The Kazakh Agricultural University named after S. Seyfullin was visited by representatives of FAO. The delegation was led by Kairat Najmidenov, Head of the FAO Liaison and Partnership Office in Kazakhstan, World of NAN reports.

According to the press service of the university, the event was attended by deans of faculties together with the management staff of the university. The guests were told about the scientific achievements and capabilities of the institution.

In October 2011, the FAO launched an inter-regional program on national and regional locust control in Caucasus and Central Asia. The project promoted collection and analysis of information and use of modern technology to improve locust control.

"Scientists-experts from the Faculty of Agronomy of KazATU took active part in the project to support national locust management in Kazakhstan, with trainings on locust monitoring and information management, including ASDC (Automotive Skills Development Council) and CCALM (Caucasus and Central Asia Management)," said Mr. Abdyrov, Deputy Head of the Board on Academic Affairs.

In turn, Kairat Nazhmedenov offered students of Seifullin University to undertake an internship at FAO.

Internship will be fully funded by this organization. The most important thing for the students is that they know English, commented Kairat Najmidenov.
