The current season may be the last for some farmers

The preliminary forecast of 14 million tons of wheat harvest has not come true due to heavy rains during the mass harvesting period. The quality of wheat is not satisfactory for grain producers, World of NAN reports with reference to the GUK.

With the emerging low prices, as well as the high cost of grain and a small number of marketable products of the new harvest, it will be difficult for domestic grain producers to fulfill their financial obligations.

To support farmers Grain Union of Kazakhstan proposes an urgent government meeting and the following measures:

- to pay the grain producers all subsidies that have the status of "on hold" and "in reserve" in the State Agro system as soon as possible and to accelerate the consideration of submitted but not considered application.

- State financial institutions to decide on the extension of the terms of fulfillment of grain producers' obligations under all types of loans and leasing until December 31, 2026.

- to transfer the debt of grain producers on credits and leasing received in the second-tier banks to the state financial organizations and also extend the terms of its repayment until December 31, 2026.

- Prodkorporatsiya to revise the final settlement prices for forward purchase upward, but no less than 100 thousand tenge per ton.

- provide grain producers with a deferral of fulfillment of obligations on taxes and other mandatory payments to the budget.

- simplify the VAT refund procedure for exporters of grain and processed products, including by revisiting the formation of the Supplier Pyramid.

- Limit imports of wheat, barley and sunflower seeds only to processors, poultry and livestock breeders by introducing import quotas for them - no more than 15% of their production capacity.
