Turkish company to build sugar factory in Kazakhstan

A large project for the production of white sugar from sugar beet in Western Kazakhstan will be implemented within the commission of the Head of State to ensure food security and saturation of the market with domestic products, World of NAN reports.

A memorandum on the implementation of the project on construction of the sugar plant was signed by the Akim of Aktobe region Eraly Tugzhanov and founder of Omtis Ortadoğu Makina Ibrahim Gultekin at the VII International Investment Forum "Investment Aktobe-2022".

Construction of the sugar plant is one of the priorities for Kazakhstan, as the market of our country and, in particular, the Aktobe region remains dependent on imports.

According to the press service of the regional Akimat, the company Omtis Ortadoğu Makina, which has extensive experience in the construction of complex engineering projects, is ready to invest $550 million.  The capacity of the plant is 330 thousand tons per year. It will create 180 jobs.

It should be added that diplomatic missions of more than 30 countries, members of the Government, heads of national holdings and companies, financial institutions, transnational corporations, representatives of large foreign and domestic business, scientists and experts took part in the forum.

"The international event was organized in order to present the investment potential of the region, promote a favorable investment image, as well as further stimulate the inflow of domestic and foreign investments in the economy of Aktobe region," the regional Akimat reported.
