According to the Turkestan regional Akimat, the region is a leader in the development of cattle farming in the republic. It accounts for 75% of exported cattle meat and 40% of mutton, World of NAN reports.
Thus, 30,700 tons of cattle meat and 3,200 tons of mutton were exported. During last year, 4 million tons of forage was harvested - the plan was exceeded.
Last year the region produced agricultural products worth 906.5 billion tenge, an increase of 101.7%. Sown area amounted to 845,500 hectares, it is more than 2020 indicators by 2100 hectares. As a result of diversification of crops, the yield of vegetables, gourds, potato crops increased by an average of 50 centners, and the harvest compared to 2020 - by 429,000 tons, amounting to a record 3.3 million tons of harvested products.
New greenhouses were built on 122 hectares, their total area is now about 1.5 thousand hectares (the share in the republic - 71%). The area of greenhouses was additionally increased by 122 hectares and amounted to 1,590 hectares.
In order to provide the population with local products in 2022 it is planned to realize 42 investment projects for 55,3 billion tenge. In addition, the area with the introduction of moisture-saving technologies will be brought to 4000 hectares.
A total of 1,262 units of agricultural machinery will be purchased. In the next five years, the volume of gross agricultural production is planned to reach 1.3 trillion tenge.
