3,500 hectares of land taken from a businessman from the Forbes list

The prosecutor's office of the Almaty region in Enbekshikazakh district has reclaimed 3,500 hectares of land that was illegally granted in 2017 to a well-known businessman from the Forbes list, World of NAN reports with reference to the office.

Currently, in order to exclude the facts of re-granting the lands to third parties, work is underway to transfer these lands to public pastures for local residents.

"These lands have not been used for their intended purpose for years, fodder crops have not been cultivated, there were no farm animals on the balance sheet of these farms. Meanwhile, other conscientious farmers were in dire need of sown and grazed land," the prosecutor's office noted.

Recall that the President in his Address of September 1, 2022, noting the problems of farmers' lack of access to agricultural land due to its ownership by persons with famous names, called for measures to improve the efficiency of cultivation and pastureland use.
