Kazakh grain exporters have a chance to increase their margins

Wheat futures in the U.S. reached the highest level since mid-2012. According to experts, today's situation, when the national currency weakened and export prices rose, can bring excellent income to Kazakh exporters, reports World of NAN.

According to oilworld.ru, following the trading day of February 24, March quotations of Chicago soft winter wheat CBOT jumped to $340.24 per ton, futures of Kansas City hard winter wheat KCBT - to $353.84 per ton. Minneapolis, MN March hard spring wheat futures are up to $378.45.

Corn futures rose to an eight-month high after Russia began military action in Ukraine, heightening concerns about global grain supplies.

Analysts recall that Russia and Ukraine account for about 29 percent of global wheat exports, 19 percent of corn supplies and 80 percent of sunflower oil exports. For their part, traders fear that today's conflict between the two countries may provoke a struggle to replace these supplies.
