Unique agricultural equipment is invented in Kazakhstan

Kazakh scientists have invented a unique agricultural tool, a hybrid. The device can loosen and fertilize the soil at the same time. The developers assure that this technology will help to preserve soil fertility and increase productivity, World of NAN reports referring to 24.kz.

The loosener-fertilizer is an agricultural hybrid of domestic production. The invention resembles an ordinary loosener in appearance, but it has special tubes on the sides. Through the tubes, granular fertilizer instantly falls into the pre-loosened soil.

"Today there are analogues in the world that make large combines, but they cost hundreds of times more. The cost of this equipment is actually the same as a ripper, but another function is added. I think it will be convenient for our agricultural producers", - said Chairman of the Board of "Science Foundation" JSC Aryn Orsariyev.

The idea of loosener-fertilizer originated back in 2011. Then a group of seven scientists "racked their brains" over how to make the soil of Kazakh lands more fertile. In 2018, the authors received a grant from the Science Foundation - almost 245 million tenge. Before creating the loosener-fertilizer, scientists collected soil samples. The results were disappointing 80% of the areas studied contain low amounts of easily hydrolyzable nitrogen, 92% lacked phosphorus.

"We took into account the suggestions and recommendations of farm managers and set requirements for the new machine. It is a deep loosening of the soil, plus the width of coverage should be large. Also, the working body of the equipment should introduce the main dose of fertilizer in a tiered manner," explained Kaldybek Tleumbetov, Master of Agricultural Sciences.

In addition to the loosener-fertiliser, the Science Foundation has about 155 other projects. Of these, 110 have entered the production stage. Moreover, in the next year Kazakh scientists have all chances to compete for a grant.
