Favourable weather conditions and the current state of crops make it possible to forecast an above-average harvest, World of NAN reports with reference to the government.
‘In the presence of large carryover residues in grain storage facilities (6.1 million tonnes), akimats already now need to work out all organiational issues on the acceptance of grain of the new harvest and drying facilities so that grain, in case of bad weather, does not remain wet in the fields,’ said Vice Minister of Agriculture Azat Sultanov.
The government meeting discussed options for selling leftover grain as soon as possible, one of which was speeding up export shipments. China remains one of the key destinations.
By railway 757 thousand tonnes of grain have already been shipped to the Celestial Empire, the plan for the second half of the year is 1.25 million tonnes. KTZ is ready to send more than 2 million tonnes of grain for export to China with an even distribution of trains among shippers. Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin also proposed to discuss with the Chinese side the possibility of sending grain by road transport.
