Vegetable yields have increased in Kazakhstan

In 2022, the yield of vegetables, root and tuber crops increased from 241.2 to 242.9 centners per hectare, the World of NAN reports with reference to data from Energyprom.kz.

Also, an increase in yields was recorded in open ground vegetables from 268.1 to 271.4 centners per hectare, melons - from 252.7 to 257.6 centners per hectare, sugar beet - from 305 to 382.1 centners per hectare. At the same time, there was a decrease in potato yield: from 207.5 to 205.3 centners per hectare.

In the regional context, the best yield of vegetables, root and tuber crops in 2022 was observed in Pavlodar region: 285.2 centners per hectare, which is 4.7% less than a year earlier. The top three were also Zhetysu (285.1 centners per hectare) and Zhambyl (282.9 centners per hectare) regions.

Reduction in vegetable yields was noted in five regions: in addition to the already mentioned Pavlodar region, they included Atyrau, Almaty and North-Kazakhstan regions, as well as Shymkent.
